1. Submit plans to Community Development Department on Tuesday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. (Provide 4 sets) Development Plan checklists and the development plans submittal application are available in Forms and Downloads
2. Plans will be distributed to the following departments.
- Community Development
- Engineering
- Arborist
- Fire Department
- Environmental Services
- Traffic Engineering
NOTE: Georgia Department of Transportation and Fulton County water & sewer permits must be obtained separately by the Applicant.
3. Comments will be faxed to the project contact on Friday of the following week. If all comments are not included, it is the Applicant's responsibility to contact the appropriate persons & obtain their comments.
4. Applicant addresses outstanding comments with each department and obtains signoff on Development Plan Approval Form and plans. (For subdivision final plats the original mylar must be signed by Engineering & Community Development.)

If all issues have been resolved, Applicant may call Community Development Department to sign up for the Thursday morning One Stop meeting. This meeting is by appointment only, Call Lynn Pierson at (678) 297-6076.
5. The applicant provides a site improvement estimate for calculations of the development fee and bond. For a breakdown of the City of Alpharetta’s impact fees, please follow this link. Note that applicable Fulton County fees may also apply. A bond may be required, depending on the project specifics. The landscape bond is required as part of the construction certificate of occupancy process. All commercial landscapes must be bonded for 3 years prior to final approval. 6. Applicant schedules an appointment with the Community Development Department to pay development fee & obtain an Erosion and Sediment Control permit. (For subdivision final plats the applicant must record the signed plat in Fulton County, & return 20 copies showing plat book and page number, to Community Development).
7. After erosion control measures are in place, the Owner's representative calls (678) 297-6200 to schedule an inspection. The site superintendent must provide proof of completion of the City Sediment Control class prior to clearing and/or grading activities. The Land Disturbance Permit will be issued upon acceptance of the site.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND INTERIOR FINISH
1. Commercial plans may be submitted to the Community Development Department on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. 2. The City of Alpharetta offers all applicants the option of requesting a Pre-Submittal Meeting to famiarize the applicant with The City's procedures and provide the applicant an opportunity to ask questions of our Plans Examiners. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and can be made by calling 678-297-6080.
